Anda akan melupakan 90 persen Mimpi Anda
Mimpi yang terjadi didalam tidur dan prosesnya terjadi di alam bawah sadar membuat 5 menit setelah anda terbangun dari tidur maka anda akan melupakan 50 persen dari mimpi dan cerita dalam mimpi anda. Seiring waktu, 10 menit setelah bangun dimana saat semua emosi dan kesadaraan anda kembali total, maka anda akan melupakan 90 % dari mimpi anda. Salah satu cerita menarik tentang "melupakan mimpi" ini hadir dari seorang penulis Puisi Indah Kata Mutiara terkenal, Samuel Taylor Coleridge. Suatu ketika dia mendapatkan sebuah pengalaman mimpi yang indah. Sesaat setelah Samuel bangun, dia segera menuliskan cerita dalam mimpinya dalam bait-bait puisi diatas selembar kertas. Saat tulisannya mencapai 54 kata, tiba-tiba datanglah tamu kerumahnya. Setelah urusan dengan tamu tersebut selesai, Samuel Taylor Coleridge bermaksud menyelesaikan puisinya tadi, tetapi dia tidak berhasil mengingat kembali mimpinya. Puisinya itu tidak pernah selesai. Puisi yang tidak pernah terselesaikan itu diberi judul "Kubla Khan" dan menjadi salah satu puisi paling terkenal di Inggris.

Semua Orang Bermimpi
Penelitian menemukan bahwa semua manusia bermimpi, mulai dari bayi sampai dengan orang tertua didunia masih mengalami mimpi (kecuali pada beberapa kasus penyakit jiwa parah ). Namun ada hal menarik tentang mimpi antara Pria dan Wanita. Penelitian menyebutkan bahwa Pria cenderung bermimpi tentang pria lain, baik itu pria real ataupun pria imaginatif. Sementara Wanita cenderung berimbang dalam memimpikan Pria dan Wanita lain.

Mimpi Mencegah Gangguan Emosi
Penelitian yang dilakukan para ahli dengan melakukan serangkaian test ujicoba mendapatkan bahwa pada orang yang dibangunkan saat awal mulai bermimpi tapi tetap diperbolehkan tidur 8 jam sehari, setelah 3 hari menjadi kehilangan konsentrasi, gampang marah, halusinasi dan tanda-tanda gangguan emosi serta psikologis lainnya. Kesimpulannya, mimpi berfungsi untuk melepaskan stress, ketegangan dan tekanan saat manusia tengah dalam kondisi sadar.

Rangsangan Dari Luar Mempengaruhi Mimpi Kita
Istilah ini disebut 'Dream Incorporation'. Mimpi yang berisikan refleksi dari peristiwa yang saat itu tengah terjadi. Misalkan kita bermimpi merasa sangat haus, kemudian hadirlah sebotol air yang lalu kita minum, namun tak berapa lama kemudian kita merasakan lagi kehausan, begitu terus berulang-ulang sampai kita terbangun dan menyadari bahwa kita benar-benar sedang dalam kondisi kehausan. Atau cerita yang lebih gampang dipahami : Mimpi kebelet pipis.

Saat Bermimpi Tubuh Akan Lumpuh
Kesempurnaan tubuh manusia dan otak bisa terlihat saat manusia dalam kondisi tak sadar dan mimpi. Saat manusia tidur dan bermimpi, maka tubuh akan mengalami lumpuh layu temporery atau sementara. Hal ini terjadi untuk mencegah supaya tubuh kita tidak bergerak-gerak mengikuti 'alur cerita' mimpi kita. Banyangin saja kalau anda mimpi dikejar massa, kalau kaki anda tidak lumpuh bisa-bisa anda lari ke luar rumah dan disangka maling beneran sama satpam. Ada hormon yg dihasilkan tubuh saat kita tidur yg membuat syaraf mengirimkan pesan ke tulang belakang menyebabkan tubuh kita menjadi rileks dan lama-lama lumpuh atau lemas.

Orang Buta pun Juga Bermimpi
Orang yang mengalami kebutaan sejak lahir ternyata juga mengalami mimpi. Namun karena kebutaan sejak lahirnya membuatnya tidak memiliki database bentuk dan wujud dari refleksi gambar, maka orang yang mengalami kebutaan sejak lahir mengalami mimpi-mimpi tentang suara, bunyi, sentuhan dan perasaan atau emosi.Sementara orang yang mengalami kebutaan setelah tumbuh dewasa, maka mimpinya akan bercampur antara bunyi, sentuhan dan perasaan dengan refleksi gambar-gambar yang sempat direkam lewat matanya sebelum mengalami kebutaan.

Kita Hanya Memimpikan Apa Yang Kita Ketahui
Sering kali kita mengalami mimpi dengan setting lokasi atau kondisi yang asing dengan kita. Kita bermimpi ditempat-tempat asing, dan bertemu dengan orang-orang yang tidak kita kenal. Namun penelitian menyebutkan bahwa hal tersebut tidak asal diciptakan oleh otak. Otak hanya merefleksikan semua yang pernah terjadi pada kita dan menggenerate ceritanya dengan sumber dari ingatan kita. Dan yang membuat seolah anda tidak mengenali tempat atau hal-hal dalam mimpi anda andalah alam bawah sadar anda sebagai pusat penyimpanan data ingatan yang digali oleh otak untuk menciptakan kisah mimpi yang unik, aneh dan asing. Jadi, Otak sebagai sutradara tidak akan pernah kehabisan jalan cerita drama mimpi anda, karena sepanjang hidup anda anda telah melihat jutaan wajah, ratusan ribu tempat dan detail-detail lainnya. Yap, Otak tidak akan pernah kehabisan aktor dan setting untuk menciptakan film mimpi unik untuk anda.

Mimpi Adalah Simbol dan Kiasan
Apa yang anda alami dalam mimpi sebenarnya adalah cara otak menterjemahkan alam bawah sadar anda yang merupakan simbolisasi atas peristiwa real yang terjadi saat kita sadar. Otak sangat kreatif dalam menggali database memori kita. Kadang kala, otak menggali informasi ingatan kita begitu dalamnya sampai kadang-kadang kita takjub atas mimpi aneh kita sendiri. Hal inilah yang membuat banyak orang yang tertarik akan tafsir mimpi, karena dipercaya otak memiliki kesamaan dalam mentraslate ingatan kita dan mewujudkannya menjadi simbol-simbol menarik lewat jalan cerita mimpi kita.
